Now I haven't done a DIY project in a while, but the thought came about while I was thinking of what I wanted to wear for my 23rd birthday. I have been planning out all of my TSU Homecoming outfits since the 1st of the month and I have really been wanting a tulle knee length skirt. I started my search online, and the cheapest place I found one was on Amazon.com. I read the reviews, which were mixed, but for the price I was willing to take the chance. The thing that stopped me from buying the skirt was the 17-28 days waiting for shipping. I was NOT willing to take a chance on the main piece to my BIRTHDAY outfit not being shipped on time, and knowing my luck it would have shipped on the 28th day wayyyyyy past all the events. So for a quick second I was bummed, but then I realized who I was ( THE ALL CREATIVE TANY D) and the DIY tulle skirt came to life!

All I used was a black elastic and about 150 yards of tulle. I bought both the elastic and tulle from a Joann's Fabric and Craft store. The elastic was 1in thick and cost $2.39, and the tulle came in spools of 25 yards for $2.99 a spool. I bought 7 but only used 6. So overall this skirt cost me about $22 which is basically a steal! For the majority of the skirt I did a no sew method, the only part I sewed was the elastic.

Like I said before this skirt was SUPPOSED to be for my birthday, but I get so excited when it comes to clothes and things I make myself I had to play around in it. My birthay isn't until the end of the month, so after sitting for a few hours while making the skirt I began growing anxious and was falling in love with the outcome. I had to style it and that turned into this blog post! Of course it will be all sexified (not a word but whatev lol) for my birthday but I love Love LOVE how this skirt turned out. There are many ways to make it, but of course that is why you can MIYO (Make It Your Own) by DIY!

The styling came from what I had in my closet! The denim shirt is my BFF/Brothers, of course I made the skirt, the shoes are from Forever21, watch is from Charming Charlie, and the pearls from Claire's. Hope you like the fit and feel free to drop any comments or questions and I will be sure to answer them all! Also if you need a skirt made I gotchu lol!

XOXOXO

Story w/ the Kids

The kids were standing by some cars, watching me take pictures. They were just talking and watching, and I thought I heard the little boy say, "She ugly!", so I laughed and turned around and said, "So I'm ugly?" in a joking laugh kind of way. He replies, "No I was talking about her." as he points to one of the little girls. I say, "Now that's not very nice.", and he says back, "Well if I be nice can I take a picture with you?", I laugh and say, "Sure!". So then he runs over and one of the little girls calls the whole squad and they all jump in a few pictures and ask a million and one questions. It was cute, fun, and random.
