TWISTED Rebel

So let me begin with how I got the opportunity to have my Classic Tims REBELIZED! Like all Timberland owners I went and purchased my pair from a retail establisihment, I bought mine from Journey's to be exact, and decided to get the classis pair aka the Wheaties. They are such a staple piece within my wardrobe, and I wore them every chance I got. If you own a pair of Timberland boots you know that they are a suede material and can easily become dirty if you do not have the proper protective sprays on them to help keep them clean. One Friday night I had the BRILLIANT idea to wear them to a Limelight Happy Hour in Nashville, TN on an infamous 4 for 1 Friday. If you have ever been to this venue during Happy Hour, then you know it can get real. Sooooo long story short a multitude of drinks were spilled on my beloved Tims, and my little fashion heart was broken! I thought the life of my Tims was over, (They had no protective spray on them and by the time I realized I needed to clean them the alcohol was deeply soaked into the suede :-((((((), but instead of throwing them away I called upon my OH SO AMAZINGLY CREATIVE classmate to have my wheaties REBELIZED! Clickable links to the outfit deets will be above the pictures, but this post is all about the talented Darreka Carney. You can check out ALLLLLL the many pictures of her work below, as well as the short interview!

Interview with Darreka Carney:

Q: Do you have a name for these AWESOME creations?

A: Honestly I haven't decided on a name...I think Twisted Rebel has a nice ring to it though :)

Q: What began your inspiration to re-vamp classic articles of clothing?

A: I initially started making things for myself. If I feel like I'm good enough at it then that's when I'll start making things for other people. I don't think I would ever make something that I personally wouldn't wear.

Q: Did your artistry begin on clothing or was it another type of canvas?

A: I've always been pretty "artsy" I've been drawing since I was younger. Fashion has always been an interest as well, I just started emerging the two a few years ago though

Q: Is this your business or more so a hobby?

A: It's a hobby that has made itself a business, if that makes sense.

Q: What all clothing items of you rebelized?

A: I've dabbled in a lot, vintage blazers, denim jeans, jackets, and vest.

Q: How long do you see yourself being what I'm deeming "The Customization Queen"?

A: Lol until I get bored with it

Q: Where can we find your work and how can others inquire about your services?

A: Since everything is 100% custom it's not mass produced therefore you won't find it in any store. People can contact me via email at darrekacarney@gmail.com or Instagram: PebblezTheRebel
